Philosophy, The Story Behind This Song

What inspired me?

Some years ago, I was playing the guitar half asleep, random chords and random words, when all of a sudden I thought: ‘this makes sense!’. ‘This is a philosophy of life!’. Once I got the idea, it didn’t take me long to write the full lyrics. The arrangement is simple, voice and guitar only, to keep the sound as minimalistic as possible.

Is it MY philosophy? is it YOUR philosophy?

That works for me. If it works for you, who knows? I certainly feel that the final sentence, ‘Life won’t change if you don’t change it, life won’t change if you just moan’, is part of my life.

Philosophy Lyrics

I’m the last, I’m not fast,
I don’t need to chase the spirits of my past.
Unlike the rest, I’m not the best,
I just need to get these lyrics off my chest.

And find some time to run off wild,
live without so many questions,
not worrying about impressions,
I’m not here on a mission,
I’ve lost my inhibitions.

It’s another dream, another scene,
I’m glad to be here, glad to be here.
It’s another dream, another scene,
I’m glad to be here, glad to be and glad to live.
Another dream, another scene,
I’m glad to be here, glad to be and glad to live.

You’re not in time, but it’s all right,
it’s just life that keeps me hanging on the line.
No regrets, it is all set,
it doesn’t matter if I tell you, you’ll forget.

It will be my philosophy,
live without so many questions,
not worry about impressions,
I’m not here on a mission,
I’ve lost my inhibitions.

It’s another dream, another scene,
I’m glad to be here, glad to be here.
It’s another dream, another scene,
I’m glad to be here, glad to be and glad to live.
Another dream, another scene,
I’m glad to be here, glad to be and glad to live.

Life won’t change if you don’t change it,
Life won’t change if you just moan.
